Isokon Building
Built between 1933 and 34, the grade I listed Isokon building was an experiment in communal living. Designed by Wells Coates for Jack and Molly Pritchard, the 34 flat building was home to many notable contemporary designers and creatives, including Bauhaus greats Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer and author Agatha Christie. The Isokon firm, headed by Jack Pritchard, along with the help of residents, designed modernist bent plywood furniture for the building, including the Isokon Long Chair.
